Academic Guidelines Senate Meeting in Order to Align the Permedikbudristek No. 53 of 2023
Banjarmasin – Senate meeting to discuss Academic Guidelines led by Chairman of the Senate of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Prof. Dr. H. M. Hadin, S.H., M. Hum is in the context of revising existing academic guidelines and adjusted to Permendikbud No. 53 of 2023. This activity was held on Monday (11/09/2023) in the Rectorate Senate Meeting Room and was attended by Senate members and representatives from the Academic Rectorate. This is important to do in order to standardize the decisions and policies that will be implemented in relation to academic guidelines in accordance with Permedikbudristek No. 53 of 2023.
Vice Rector Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr., M.Kes., Sp.F., SH hopes that the instructions from Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023 will make ULM more able to deal with technical matters and also other things that still need to be known. According to him, Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023 is a form of transformation of national standards for national education marks and higher education accreditation to accompany universities in implementing the independent learning program – independent campus.
From the results of the study, there are several things that may need to be taken into consideration when revising ULM’s academic guidelines in the future. Firstly, there is the autonomy of this university in providing flexibility to academic managers. These are the points that can be summarized from the contents of Permendikbudritek No. 53 of 2023. The existence of higher education autonomy provides flexibility in academic management so that it is hoped that innovation and higher education learning in each university will emerge so that there may not be uniformity between universities. tall. This is felt as a unique feature of Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 53 of 2023 in accordance with the autonomy of the relevant higher education institutions. With this flexibility, universities are expected to be able to create innovations in order to serve society. Third, it is important for the academic community, especially at LPM and universities, that quality standards must not decrease with this new regulation.
The four adjustments to the latest scientific developments are truly representative of the new Permendikbudristek. Then this university can determine its own vision and will provide a few innovation challenges in the hope that innovation will determine the content and weight of the Tridharma of higher education. Most of the contents of this academic guideline are things that are commonly understood. However, according to the Vice Chancellor Dr. Iwan Aflanie, there are several new things that will emerge along with the implementation of Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023. Firstly, the thesis is not the only thing for the final assignment, it is an important note. Second, the SKS system is no longer complicated and rigid because it is less relevant to MBKM. For example, previously it was 50 credits, 1 credit was 50 minutes, now that has dropped to 40 minutes.
Then there was a simplification of educational standards and community service education at LPPM, which initially had 8 standards to 3 standards, namely output, process and input. Then the study program can determine the form of the student’s final assignment themselves, with the size of each final assignment not having to be the same. Apart from that, there are also discussions on journal papers for Masters and Doctoral degrees which are not required but are replaced in another form. It is felt that these things need to be studied and discussed together in order to obtain academic guidelines that are appropriate and can be implemented uniformly within the ULM environment.
It is hoped that with this forum meeting, we can provide agreement and bring uniformity to each other’s thinking regarding academic guidelines that need to be revised in accordance with Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023.
