Rector Welcomes the Wasaka Team Car Which Will Display Their Latest Work at KMHE 2023

Banjarmasin – In order to take part in the 2023 Energy Saving Car Competition (KMHE) in October, Wasaka Team Car, which is a team from the Faculty of Engineering, will show the results of its work at this event. This competition is also part of the research development carried out by the University of Indonesia and will be held in the Ancol area.

Wasaka Team Car arrived to have an audience with the Rector of ULM on Wednesday (13/9/2023) regarding funding from research that this team is currently carrying out in order to take part in the Energy Saving Car Competition (KMHE) next October. The Wasaka team will later dispatch at least 11 students consisting of the core team and support team from the mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and environmental engineering study programs along with their supervisors.

According to the Chairperson of the Wasaka Team Car, Afif Gunanjar M, who is a student of the Mechanical Engineering study program, the research currently being carried out is undergoing a major overhaul in the transmission section, which was originally carried out in 2022 by the team’s energy-saving car research which was designed with an automatic transmission, in 2023 will be changed to manual transmission. Apart from that, it is also acknowledged that improvements were made to the body and chassis, although not in full, only in the weakest points of this research. Therefore, more funding is needed to maximize the performance of the results of this research. The Rector really appreciates the activities that will be carried out by Wasaka Team Car. He promised to provide the funds needed for the success of research results and their accommodation while participating in the competition.

Before reaching this stage, Wasaka Team Car first followed 2 stages and passed, namely the administration stage and design report stage and VTI (Virtual Technical Inspection). Due to their success in these two stages, they were able to bring this team to the competition stage which was held in Ancol Jakarta.
