ULM is the Highest Ranked University Receiving the Most DRTPM Grants in Kalimantan

Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) achieved the distinction of being the university with the highest total number of DRTPM grant recipients in 2024 in Kalimantan. Based on the announcement letter number 0667/E5/AL.04/20245 issued by the Minister of Education and Culture on May 30 2024, as many as 91 research and community service proposals from Lambung Mangkurat University received funding grants from DRTPM.

The Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM) is committed to encouraging and facilitating lecturers in carrying out research and community service activities to support improving the quality of higher education, national competitiveness and people’s welfare in a programmed and sustainable manner.

Based on the guidelines issued by DRTPM, after the grant recipient is determined, ULM will sign a contract with DRTPM. Then, ULM through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) will sign a contract with the head of the research/community service team.

In order to achieve the national research goals stated in BRIN 2017-2045, DRTPM research funding includes:

  1. Food;
  2. Energy;
  3. Health;
  4. Transportation;
  5. Engineering products;
  6. Defense and security;
  7. Maritime Affairs;
  8. Social humanities; And
  9. Other research fields.

DRTPM also said that there are 5 (five) national priority focus areas that are expected to be the orientation of researchers, including the green economy, blue economy, digital economy, health independence, and strengthening tourism.

From this research or community service, DRTPM targets the following outcomes or outputs:

  1. Articles in nationally reputable journals. Namely scientific work in the form of articles published in journals that have been accredited by SINTA 1-6
  2. Articles in internationally reputable journals. Scientific work in the form of articles published in journals that are indexed by international rankings (Web of Science and/or Scopus) or have a SINTA rating of 1
  3. Research results model, such as:
    • Models, concepts, systems (computer programs) or certain social innovations whose intellectual property is registered in the form of Copyright; or
    • Methods, systems or strategies whose intellectual property is registered in the form of a patent;
    • Prototype or prototype of research results
  4. Materials for biological products, materials/specimens/types of additional biological wealth (Value Added/Fortified), materials/specimens/new types of biological wealth, breeding, discovery of additional DNA compounds/sequences, discovery of new DNA compounds/sequences, biodiversity research protocols, and industrially viable prototypes whose intellectual property is registered in the form of a patent.
  5. Improved lines, types of seeds/seedlings/varieties/superior strains resulting from propagation, and industrially viable prototypes whose intellectual property is registered in the form of Plant Variety Protection (PVT).
  6. Industrial Feasible Prototype whose intellectual property is registered in the form of an Integrated Circuit Layout Design (DTLST).
  7. Types of Captive, Domesticated and Breeding Fauna whose intellectual property is registered in the form of relevant Geographical Indications.
