ULM Participates in PLN and Regional Government Efforts to Preserve the Environment

Banjar Regency – ULM Vice Rector for Cooperation, Public Relations and Information Systems Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc., took part in the tree seedling planting activity in Sultan Adam Forest Park (Tahura), precisely at Bukit Batu Tourism, Aranio District, Banjar Regency. Dr. Yusuf Azis was present as a representative of the ULM Rector at the event held by PT PLN on Wednesday (12/6/2024).

This activity was carried out as a form of PT PLN (Persero)’s commitment to supporting the reforestation and nature conservation program in Sultan Adam Forest Park (Tahura), with assistance from Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL). This assistance was handed over symbolically at this event to the Governor of South Kalimantan H. Sahbirin Noor through his Expert Staff for Economics and Development, Agus Dyan Nur. Program.

This event was organized by PT PLN (Persero) Banjarbaru Transmission Implementation Unit in collaboration with PT PLN Nusantara Power UP South Kalimantan.

Apart from the symbolic handover of assistance in the form of 1 operational support vehicle, 10 outdoor fitness equipment, children’s play equipment, 3 solar cell lights at three points, 10 trash cans, 10 warning boards and 2 gazebos, this event was also accompanied by the planting of 1833 productive plant seeds and non-productive.

Expert Staff for Economics and Development Agus Dyan Nur, who in this case came to represent the Governor of South Kalimantan, also expressed the appreciation expressed by the Governor of South Kalimantan for PT PLN (Persero)’s concern for the TJSL program.

“On this occasion I would like to express my highest appreciation to the leadership and staff of PT PLN (Persero) Banjarbaru Transmission Implementation Unit who have shown their concern and social responsibility through this TJSL program,” said the Expert Staff for Economics and Development conveying the Governor’s message.

He also believes that the contribution made by PT PLN (Persero) will not only improve the quality of our environment, but will also bring long-term benefits for future generations.

The involvement of many parties in supporting government programs has had a good impact, especially in terms of environmental conservation. As was done by PT PLN (Persero), the Governor of South Kalimantan welcomed this and hoped that this could also be an inspiration for other parties to contribute to protecting and caring for the surrounding environment.

“Greening and conservation are joint efforts that require collaboration from various parties, both government, private sector and society. “With good synergy, I am sure we can create a greener, healthier and more sustainable environment,” he added.

ULM’s presence in this activity is a form of ULM’s commitment and collaboration with stakeholders, as well as a form of support, especially in protecting and caring for nature and the surrounding environment.
