Two ULM Students Win Dangdut Singing Competition at PEKSIMIDA South Kalimantan 2024
Tanah Laut – In order to attract the best talent to compete in the dangdut and keroncong singing competition at PEKSIMINAS 2024, South Kalimantan Province 2024 to organize PEKSIMIDA. Tanah Laut Polytechnic (Politala) had the honor of hosting PEKSIMIDA (Regional Student Arts Week) in the men’s and women’s Dangdut and Keroncong singing competitions.
The competition has the theme “Freedom Achieves Inspiring Artistic Talent” and was held on Wednesday (12/6/2024) by presenting Acting. Regent of Tanah Laut, head of BPSMI South Kalimantan Province, jury, participants and assistants from each university.
The competition event for the Dangdut and Keroncong competition which was held in the hall on the 3rd floor of the Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari Politala Integrated Lecture Building (GKT) was successful and lively. It was attended by 18 participants from a number of universities in South Kalimantan. This is certainly a source of pride for the Director of Politala who got this opportunity.
“Of course today’s event gives pride and enthusiasm to witness this festival, namely the areas being contested are dangdut and keroncong singing,” said Politala Director Dr. Hj. Mufrida Zein, S.Ag., M.Pd.
Apart from that, this activity is not only interpreted as a competition with the target of winning solely to showcase student talent and creativity, but also as a moment to build relationships between universities and also foster togetherness with each other.
Mufrida further said that this event had an important role in building student character. Moreover, dangdut and keroncong music are two musical genres that are rich in culture and history. Both are a reflection of Indonesia’s cultural richness which must be preserved and developed. So it is hoped that students who are the nation’s next generation will continue to be able to recognize and preserve this cultural richness.
“By holding this competition, we not only explore the potential of students but also participate in preserving national culture,” she added.
He also hopes that this event can become a forum for learning to appreciate beauty, work together and respect differences. Through various events like this, it is also hoped that it can foster and strengthen social ties and a sense of togetherness between universities.
On this occasion, ULM again succeeded in winning 1st place in Dangdut singing for the male and female categories, including M. Sultan, a student from the Faculty of Agriculture and Septy Adilla Nandita, a student from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. These two ULM students will represent all students in South Kalimantan in the PEKSIMINAS event. 2024 for the dangdut singing competition.
