ULM Collaborates with National Library of the Republic of Indonesia
Banjarmasin – The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding or MoU between Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) and the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia was held on Tuesday (11/6/2024). This activity was carried out at the Rattan Inn Banjarmasin Hotel witnessed by all State University Librarians throughout Indonesia.
This signing was carried out by both parties, namely Prof. E. Aminudin Aziz, M.A., Ph.D., acting for and on behalf of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia with ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Si, who was represented on this occasion by the Head of the Planning, Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau, Drs. Parmasihat.
The scope of this collaboration includes:
- Development of human resources in the field of libraries and librarianship;
- Development of the National Master Catalog (KIN) and Indonesia OneSearch (lOS) databases;
- Shared use of collection resources;
- Scientific meetings, research, joint publications, and community service, in the field of libraries and librarianship;
- Collection and preservation of Printed Works and Recorded Works (KCKR);
- Expansion of the national library network;
- Education, Research, Training and Community Service;
- Improvement and Development of Human Resources Competency;
- Independent Learning-Independent Campus Program (MBKM);
- Business Development and other areas of cooperation agreed by both parties.
With the implementation of this Memorandum of Understanding, it is hoped that it will provide the widest possible access between university libraries and national libraries. With this MoU, they can exchange information in the library, access e-journals, e-books and so on. Apart from that, it is hoped that it can improve the quality of existing human resources.
