Lambung Mangkurat University Educational Technology students have again achieved achievements in the field of learning media at the national level. The Learning Media Competition in the context of the EduTech Series Competition Vol 1 which was organized by the Indonesian Educational Technology Student Association (IMATEPSI) was held from 19 to 20 May 2024 at Surabaya State University.
The Educational Technology Council team consisting of M. Rizal, Akhmad Fadhil Amara, Arif Rahman and Muhammad Ihsan from Lambung Mangkurat University succeeded in coming out as 1st place in the EduTech Series Competition Vol 1 Learning Media Competition ahead of the TPionir UNJ team from Jakarta State University as second place and the Jogja team Jaya from Yogya State University who had to settle for being in third place.
The learning media with the title Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation in South Kalimantan, developed by the Educational Technology Assembly Team, is a computer-based interactive learning media for the Geography subject in Class XI SMA CHAPTER 4, the topic of Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation. The Chair of the Education Technology Assembly Team said that in developing this learning media several applications were used such as Articulate Storyline, Corel Draw, Adobe Premiere and Adobe Audition.
“We use the articulate storyline application as the main application for making this learning media. Meanwhile, several supporting applications include Corel Draw, Adobe Premiere and Adobe Audition. Making learning media for Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation in South Kalimantan developed by the Educational Technology Council team takes an effective time of just five days, if only making the learning media. “However, if you look at the brainstorming stage to finishing, it takes around ten days from May 4 2024 to May 14 2024.” he said.
M. Rizal, who is currently studying in the 8th semester, is also an outstanding student at Lambung Mangkurat University in 2023. Previously he had won several national learning media competitions, namely 2nd place in Physics Star at Jambi University, 3rd place at the Sriwijaya University Education Festival, 1st place at Educational Days at Lambung Mangkurat University and 1st place at the Lambung Mangkurat University Learning Technology Developer Festival. Apart from the field of learning media, students who are active in organizations have also achieved more than 25 national and international achievements in various fields such as short films, photography, educational opinion and others.
“Some of my friends may have participated in learning media competitions such as Wildan Tamami and Muhammad Ihsan, but there are still many who have not dared to try. That’s the reason I invited several colleagues who have never competed before to take part in this team. Arif and Fadhil have studied and worked together well so that we can get the best results in the EduTech Series Competition this time. “Hopefully other fellow students will also have the same enthusiasm to continue learning, creating and achieving.” he said.
Akhmad Fadhil Amara, who currently serves as General Chair of the FKIP ULM Educational Technology Student Association (HIMA TEKPEND FKIP ULM) admitted that this was his first experience in participating in a learning media competition. “My feeling after winning the first learning media competition was that I was definitely very excited because it was something new to take part in a learning media competition and I was immediately given the confidence to be the first winner. “This is definitely my first step to continue working, especially for my beloved Educational Technology study program,” he concluded.
“Actually, the learning material in the textbook discusses the meaning of disasters, types of disasters, the distribution of disasters in Indonesia, disaster mitigation and disaster adaptation. However, we do not include all of this material in the learning media that we develop, because this development is aimed at high school students in South Kalimantan, so in the disaster mitigation and adaptation material we focus on disasters in South Kalimantan such as floods, drought, land and forest fires. . This is what we understand regarding how differentiated learning is carried out, especially regarding the content or learning materials. We feel that students in South Kalimantan do not need to understand in depth about how to mitigate and adapt to Tsunami disasters, because in our area this disaster almost never occurs. “However, on the one hand, they need to understand comprehensively the natural disasters that often occur in their area.” said M. Rizal (Lead of the Educational Technology Assembly Team).
Apart from holding a learning media competition, the Indonesian Education Technology Student Association (IMATEPSI) through the EduTech Series Competition Vol 1 also held a national photography competition with the result being that 1st place was won by Tomi Adi Muhnandar from Veteran Bangun Nusantara University Sukoharjo, 2nd place was won by Dzulkifli from the University Sebelas Maret and Rohimun Farhan from Padang State University won 3rd place in this national photography competition.

Two branches of competition were held, namely poster competition and essay competition. Meanwhile, IMATEPSI itself also held the EduTech Series Competition Vol 1 which consisted of a learning media competition and a national level photography competition.
The EduTech Series Competition itself is one of the work programs of the IMATEPSI Deputy PSDM for the period 2022 to 2025 which aims to improve the competency of Education Technology students through series competition activities which are held every 4 months, 4 times with various competition branches, namely posters, photography and learning media.
