2025 Work Plan of UPA LLB, Increasing Research and Community Service of Mangrove Lands
Banjarbaru – The Academic Support Unit for Wetland Environment (UPA LLB) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) “2024 Performance Report and Work Plan of the Academic Support Unit for Wetland Environment” on Wednesday (11/12/2024).
This event was attended by Vice Rector IV of ULM Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc, Vice Rector II of ULM Dr. Ir. Arief Rahmad Maulana Akbar, M.Sc., IPU, representatives of each Faculty, Director of Postgraduate Studies, Head of Institutions, and Head of UPA in ULM.
The activity carried out in Hall 1 of the ULM Integrated Laboratory was carried out in order to design the acceleration of achieving ULM’s vision and mission, especially in the wetland environment. Although it is only about one year old, UPA LLB ULM is currently managing 600 Ha of mangrove land in Kotabaru.
Head of the Wetland Environment Academic Support Unit (UPA LLB) Dr.Eng. Maya Amalia, ST., said that she needed the support and involvement of all parties within ULM in an effort to maximize the use of available land.
Through maximum efforts, it is hoped that activities in the field of research and community service can be directed according to ULM’s vision and mission as a university that focuses on wetland studies.
“We want to involve all components in the ULM environment to work together in 2025, it is impossible for me alone. In 2025 we can form groups related to education, research, community service and innovation in the wetland environment,” she said.
This is also based on the situation where ULM according to Vice Rector II is the center of attention of the Ministry of Environment so that ULM can run programs related to the Environment. He hopes that with this activity, all parties can contribute to contributing ideas, concepts and implementation of activities and product innovations in the wetland sector.
“Hopefully later they can choose whether they want to contribute in the field of education, research, community service, or product innovation,” said ULM Vice Rector II.
In addition to presenting the 2024 performance report, various work plans in 2025 were also discussed or the main topic in this FGD activity. By inviting speakers who are expected to provide enlightenment and solutions.
This activity was filled with material related to Planning and Funding of activities by ULM Vice Rector II, continued with material related to cooperation by ULM Vice Rector IV then finally material related to Wetland Environmental Education/Curriculum by the Head of LPMPP ULM Prof. Agung Nugroho, S.TP, M.Sc, Ph.D. All the guests who attended were very enthusiastic in discussing and providing their respective input, ideas and thoughts.
