Development Seminar Presents Experts from Malaysia
Banjarmasin — The Public Administration Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a seminar entitled “The Journey of Designing and Implementing City Development in Malaysia”. This event took place at the General Building of ULM Banjarmasin on Wednesday (11/12/2024) with the main speaker ASSOC. PROF. PMGR. SR. DR. Mohammad Sukeri Khalid from Universiti Utara Malaysia.
The Rector of ULM, Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., in his remarks expressed his high appreciation to the speaker for his willingness to share knowledge and experience.
“I, on behalf of the entire academic community, would like to thank Dr. Mohammad Sukeri Khalid who has been present to provide enlightenment to all of us, especially for students of the ULM Public Administration Study Program. This is a source of pride and blessing for all of us,” he said.
The Rector also emphasized the importance of seminars like this to broaden students’ horizons and suggested that similar activities in the future could involve more study programs within the FISIP ULM environment.
“I hope that in the future this room will be full of participants from various study programs. This is a good start to present experts from abroad at the study program level,” he added.
This seminar was attended by students of the Public Administration Study Program, FISIP ULM, who gained direct insight into the experience of city development in Malaysia. This event also became the initial milestone in a series of academic activities involving international experts at ULM.
The Rector expressed his hope that other study programs could follow in the footsteps of the Public Administration Study Program in presenting foreign speakers. He also plans to involve ULM lecturers who are alumni of foreign universities to share knowledge in future seminars.
By holding this seminar, ULM continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the quality of education and opening global insights for its students.
