The Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower gives a Public Lecture, Motivating ULM Students to Face the World of Work Market in the Era of Society 5.0
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a public lecture delivered by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia (Sekjen Kemnaker RI), Prof. Drs. Anwar Sanusi, MPA., Ph.D on Tuesday (25/6) at the General Building ULM Banjarmasin. This public lecture, which was attended by hundreds of students, aimed to provide strengthening and provision to ULM students in facing the world of work, with the theme “Employment Opportunities and Challenges in the Era of Society 5.0”.
This public lecture activity was opened by Vice Rector IV Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc and witnessed by the Head of the Labor Market Center Muhammad Yusuf. S.T., M.Si, Head of the South Kalimantan Province Manpower and Transmigration Service, Head of the Banjarmasin City Micro Business and Labor Cooperatives Service, Head of the South Kalimantan Province Indonesian Immigrant Job Protection Service, Dean, Postgraduate Director, Head of Institution, and officials within the ULM Rectorate .
ULM Vice Rector for Cooperation, Public Relations and Information Systems, Yusuf Azis, representing ULM Rector Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri, expressed his gratitude for the arrival of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower who had motivated students. He hopes that this activity can become a forum for students to broaden their knowledge, especially the opportunities and challenges ahead in facing the job market.
“Students should not waste this public lecture opportunity to be able to explore various kinds of information or tips on opportunities and challenges in working in the era of society 5.0,” said the Vice Rector .
Prof. Drs. Anwar Sanusi, MPA., Ph.D in his presentation explained that Indonesia is a country that is given the opportunity or golden opportunity for us to become a great country. He stated that there are important principles in managing labor which are contained in the 3 values of labor policy, namely:
1) adaptive, which means being able to adapt to changes in the work environment, technology and market needs;
2) Resilience, which means policies that show resilience in facing challenges and crises, such as economic recession, natural disasters, or pandemics;
3) Inclusive policies that ensure that all individuals, regardless of background, gender, age, disability, or socio-economic status, have equal opportunities to work and develop.
Prof. Anwar also continues to motivate the students present to continue to compete and develop their competencies so they can get opportunities in the world of work market. “Don’t be afraid of not getting a job after graduating from college because a graduate has the competence to compete in the world of work,” he said.
The Vice Rector hopes that this public lecture by the Secretary General can be a provision for the future of ULM students in the future. “Hopefully this public lecture with the Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower can be a provision for ULM students, so that they will be more optimistic about looking at the future with a brilliant career,” he concluded.
