ULM Prepares Past Learning Recognition Program, New Path for Student Admissions
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) is preparing to accept RPL (Recognition of Past Learning) students. The Rector of ULM, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, heads of academic institutions and bureaus, as well as the deputy deans of faculties attended and gathered on Tuesday (25/6/2024).
The agenda of the meeting was to consolidate the 2024/2025 academic year and discuss new student admissions, including RPL pathways or programs. The Head of the RPL Program, Prof. Ir. Fadly H Yusran, M.Sc., Ph.D., there are many study programs that are suitable for running the RPL program at ULM. The Faculty RPL Team is expected to start designing a budget for assessing prospective students.
Prof. Yusran also said that the RPL program is the authority of the study program which will be ratified through a decree as the basis for its implementation. Study programs that will carry out RPL are asked to prepare a guidebook, where a maximum of 70% of the curriculum that can be implemented in RPL is required and the remaining 30% is the university’s mandatory curriculum. The socialization of the ULM RPL program is planned to be carried out to local governments, both city, district and provincial levels.
RPL or Recognition of Past Learning is recognition of a person’s learning achievements obtained from formal, non-formal, informal education, and/or work experience as a basis for continuing formal education and for equivalency with certain qualifications. Through the RPL program, ULM is expected to be able to reach prospective students and provide broader educational benefits.
“ULM’s task is to educate the nation’s life, therefore, with this we hope we can participate more broadly and inclusively in the implementation of higher education in South Kalimantan,” said the Rector at the BIMTEK RPL Program activity last May.
