RJI Commemorates ULM’s 8th Birthday, Signs MoU to Encourage Improving the Quality of Scientific Journals
Banjarmasin – On June 22 2024, Indonesian Journal Volunteers (RJI) commemorated his birthday at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Kalsel). The event took place at the ULM General Building and was an important moment for RJI. This activity was attended by the RJI Management and hundreds of members from various regions in Indonesia. At this event RJI also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ULM. This MoU marks a joint commitment to managing scientific journals.
Vice Rector for Planning, Finance and General Affairs, Dr. Ir. Arief Rahmad Maulana Akbar, M.Sc., IPU, stated that this MoU was a form of ULM’s support for the Indonesian Journal Volunteers. ULM has a vision and mission to improve the quality of journals, and collaboration with RJI is a means to achieve this goal. The Vice Rector emphasized that ULM would make maximum use of the facilities provided by RJI. The main focus is to improve the status of journals in South Kalimantan. Despite the various challenges, ULM is committed to continuing to improve the journal’s reputation.
The General Chair of RJI, Arbain, highlighted RJI’s role in assisting journal managers. Even though the number of journals in Indonesia is large, another difficult task is to improve their quality. RJI not only competes at the national level, but also has the ambition to compete on the international stage. Arbain emphasized that RJI is a non-profit organization that helps all journal managers in Indonesia. He invited all journal managers, especially in South Kalimantan and throughout Indonesia, to join RJI and learn from each other.
