ULM UTBK Committee Conducts Examination of Anomalous Participants Without Disturbing the Comfort of the Exam
Banjarmasin – Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) is implementing strict supervision of anomalous participants in the implementation of the 2025 Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK). Anomalous participants are participants with domicile identities and school origins from outside South Kalimantan, but choose the exam location at ULM and their favorite study program outside ULM, especially on the island of Java.
Based on the statement of the Head of the ULM Academic & Student Affairs Bureau, Hj. Nieke Rezeki Febriantie, SE., MM., the anomalous participant data was submitted by the central committee since the beginning of the UTBK implementation. To anticipate potential cheating, the ULM Implementation Coordinator (Korpel) team routinely conducts thorough inspections since the first day of the exam.
The inspection is carried out with thorough visual verification, matching the photo on the participant card with the real face, including paying attention to details such as glasses, shirt buttons, ears, and identity on official documents brought by the participant. The back of the participant card and other identity documents are also checked carefully, without reducing the comfort of participants while at the exam location.
“Some of them have studied in Banjarmasin, either at private universities or even ULM students, then took the UTBK again this year. However, we still ensure that identity verification is carried out strictly,” said Feby.
This step was taken to maintain the integrity of the UTBK implementation, considering the suspicion that certain participants took advantage of the mismatch between their domicile and the exam location as a certain strategy.
Until now, the UTBK process at ULM has been safe, orderly, and without significant obstacles, including in handling anomalous participants. ULM is committed to continuing to implement UTBK according to national standards and maintaining fairness for all participants in a transparent manner.
