ULM’s Commitment to Producing Disaster Response Nurses Through Disaster Nursing Simulation
Banjarbaru – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University (FKIK) held a Disaster Nursing Simulation Practical Exam on Wednesday (11/12/2024). This activity was attended by students of the Nursing Undergraduate Study Program as part of strengthening competency in dealing with disaster situations.
Dr. Herawati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep as the Head of the Nursing Study Program gave an opening speech at this event. She expressed her high appreciation for all parties involved in organizing this simulation. “I would like to thank you very much for the efforts and preparations that have been carried out very well. I give my extraordinary appreciation for organizing this disaster nursing simulation,” she said.
She also explained the importance of this activity in strengthening students’ understanding of the role of nurses in emergency situations.
“Hopefully, this simulation can provide strengthening understanding related to theory and practice in dealing with disaster events. Hopefully this activity will run smoothly and successfully, and provide great benefits for all of us,” she added.
With the implementation of this activity, it is expected that students of the Nursing Study Program will not only understand the theory, but also be able to apply their roles in real disaster situations. This activity reflects the commitment of Lambung Mangkurat University in producing health workers who are ready to face challenges in the field. This simulation is also expected to become a routine part of the curriculum to support the quality of competent and disaster-responsive graduates.
