Australian Consul General in Makassar Holds Sharing Session: Study Opportunities in Australia for ULM Students
Banjarmasin – Good news came from the Australian Consulate General in Makassar which provided information and insight regarding How to plan further studies in Australia for Students of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM). The activity which was held at the Lecture Theater of the Faculty of Economics and Business was also attended by the Vice Rector IV of ULM Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc and more than 200 ULM students on the Banjarmasin Campus.
The Australian Consulate General in Makassar plays an active role in promoting Australian education in Eastern Indonesia, including Sulawesi, by providing various information and opportunities for Indonesian students. Therefore, the Study Opportunity Activity in Australia for ULM Students which presents Todd Dias as the Australian Consul General in Makassar is a rare and valuable opportunity for ULM students.
The Australian Government has prepared 20 scholarship programs for Eastern Indonesia in 2024 to strengthen diplomatic relations between the Indonesian and Australian Governments. Todd Dias said that as the Australian Consul General, he is always looking for opportunities for the people of Eastern Indonesia, including South Kalimantan, to be able to experience the programs offered. The programs offered are scholarships for further study for Masters and Doctoral degrees, Educational Seminars, and Cultural and Academic Exchanges.
Although this is the first time for Dias to set foot in South Kalimantan, he really hopes that his visit to ULM and his sharing session regarding tips for getting scholarships in Australia can net scholarship opportunities in the Kangaroo Country that can also be felt by South Kalimantan students, especially ULM. “This is actually a great opportunity to learn a little about Australia and how to study in Australia,” said Todd Dias.
ULM Vice Rector IV Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc responded well to the visit of the Australian Consulate General Team in Makassar and hopes that many ULM graduates can take advantage of this opportunity as best they can, considering that many ULM lecturers are graduates of universities in Australia.
