Grants by PT. Berkah Alia Rahmah Will be used as an Agriculture and Plantation Center
Collaboration between universities and industry is very important in creating an inclusive and quality educational environment. Universities have a big task in providing quality education and research, as well as preparing graduates who are ready to work and understand the industrial world. This big task certainly cannot be realized without synergy between universities and partners from government, private sector and industry.
To provide quality education, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) is open to collaborating with stakeholders. Like the signing of the Cooperation between ULM and PT. Berkah Alia Rahmah, Monday (15/7/2024). The signing of the MoU regarding this land grant was carried out by the Rector of ULM Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E, M.Si and Director of PT. Berkah Alia Rahmah Muhammad Hidayat.
This event which took place in the ULM Rector’s room was a breath of fresh air for ULM. As a PTN with BLU status, ULM can manage its income and expenses independently, although it still has to follow government regulations. This status requires ULM to increase efficiency and effectiveness in providing higher education services to the community.
The role of stakeholders outside the government in developing the expanded campus also helps stimulate economic growth in the surrounding area, create jobs and increase local businesses that support the needs of the wider community. “The collaboration between ULM and the private sector will certainly help ease the burden on the government where the number of regional development needs is increasing,” said the Rector.
The Rector already has plans to utilize the 200,000 m2 land so that it can be productive by building an agricultural and plantation center. “Later there (the grant land) we will manage it so that the land is truly productive and will be used for ULM academic interests, especially students,” concluded the Rector.
