ULM Pioneered Towards Becoming a World Class University (WCU)
Banjarmasin – Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E, M.Si is committed to bringing ULM to become a World Class University (WCU). This is proven by the event (FGD) held by Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) regarding regulations, commercialization, branding and marketing of ULM’s superior innovative products towards World Class University (WCU) at the Fugo Hotel Banjarmasin on Thursday (27/6/2024) . This activity is part of the 2024 ULM higher education revitalization program.
This FGD also presented a number of resource persons including the Chair of the UI Business Incubation Sub-Directorate, Prasandhya Astagiri Yusuf, S.Si., MT., Ph.D who discussed the commercialization of research results. UNS Incubator Manager and AIBI Management, Khresna Bayu Sangka, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., CMILT. He delivered material related to branding and marketing. Followed by the Director of the UNUD Business Management Agency, Dr Sayu Ketut Sutrisna Dewi, SE., MM, Ak who discussed product regulations and contribution distribution regulations. Finally, ULM lecturer and researcher, Apt. Nani Kartinah S.Farm., M.Sc., discussing production and manufacturing of PT products.
This activity was also attended by dozens of researchers from ULM and other universities around South Kalimantan, as well as six representatives from industry in South Kalimantan.
This activity is a big hope for the ULM Rector. In his speech, he expressed the hope that this event could help ULM in becoming a World Class University. Hopefully, with support through this revitalization program, ULM will accelerate in improving ULM’s world ranking. “We continue to encourage international research cooperation in collaboration with foreign universities as an effort to improve ULM’s world ranking,” said the ULM Rector.
Chair of the ULM Technology Business Incubator, Totok Wianto, explained the obstacles faced by researchers in sharing profits or royalties when creating innovative products. Moreover, the lack of clear commercialization regulations with the industrial sector and universities is also an obstacle to the development and application of research results and technological innovation. “It is hoped that this activity can inspire researchers to create innovative products that are useful for society,” he concluded.
