Strongly Determined, One Participant Attended UTBK in a Wheelchair

Rabi Munirah, one of the participants in the ULM Computer Based Written Examination (UTBK) had to take the exam in a wheelchair on Friday (3/5/2024). This was because she had a motorbike accident on Wednesday, two days before the UTBK schedule that had been determined for her. She experienced this accident while driving with his father in the Kalua area, South Kalimantan.

Previously, she said that his leg was only injured. But the next day, his legs became more swollen and she had to walk with a cane. However, Rabi was determined to continue taking part in the scheduled UTBK.

“My family then contacted the committee to tell them that I could not wear shoes when taking the exam,” said Rabi.

The UTBK committee then offered Rabi a wheelchair to use when taking the exam. Rabi said that he was greatly helped by the wheelchair assistance provided. Apart from that, the UTBK ULM health and paramedic team also accompanied Rabi until he finished taking the exam.

This UTBK is the first for Rabi who comes from Amuntai, MAN 4 Hulu Sungai Utara. Rabi took the Psychology study program at Lambung Mangkurat University as hers sole choice at SNBT.

Different from the previous year where ULM had 3 disabled participants in the UTBK SNBT, this year ULM did not have any UTBK participants with disabilities. However, ULM continues to prepare itself for various possible obstacles that may arise for participants, including by preparing a health team, paramedics and medical aids.
