Commemorating National Education Day “Mutual Cooperation Enlivens and Continues the Free Learning Movement”

Banjarbaru – In commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) which falls on May 2, the Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., invited the entire academic community, especially those in Banjarbaru, to hold a ceremony at the Banjarbaru ULM Postgraduate yard on Thursday (2/5/2024). The ceremony was attended by a number of lecturers, education staff and students. The ceremony took place with a speech by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.
Considerable changes have been felt in the world of education, making Indonesian society continue to make endless adaptations and adjustments, especially with the emergence of a new program from the Ministry of Education, Research and Technology, namely Merdeka Belajar. Not only teachers and educational institutions have to go through a period of adjustment, students are also required to be able to follow curriculum developments in order to achieve the learning goals desired by the Central Government. However, Nadiem assured himself that the challenges ahead would be easier to overcome.
“We have overcome strong waves and high coral together. Now, we have begun to feel the changes happening around us, moved together with simultaneous and unison steps. “We are building a new face of Indonesian education and culture together with the Freedom of Learning movement,” said the Minister of Education  in a welcoming speech read by the Rector of ULM.
Not to forget, at the end of the speech, the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology also expressed his enthusiasm for all educational activists in the country to continue to support the Freedom to Learn movement.
“Happy National Education Day. Let’s continue to work together to enliven and continue the Independent Learning movement.”
