Opening of MTQ XXXV at Provincial Level Held

Tapin – The opening of the XXXV MTQ for the provincial level was held on the main stage in the Rantau Baru area, Tapin Regency on Saturday (27/4/2024). A number of regional officials attended this event, including Caretaker the Head of People’s Welfare Bureau Ir Ahmad Solhan who came to represent the Governor of South Kalimantan H. Sahbirin Noor, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, the regent and deputy regent in the South Kalimantan region, and the Chair of the South Kalimantan Provincial DPRD. Not to forget, the ULM Chancellor, represented byVice Rector IV Dr.Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc was also present to enliven the opening of the XXXV MTQ which was held in a grand manner.

The event was opened by Ahmad Solhan who was accompanied by the Chair of the South Kalimantan Provincial DPRD Supian HK, the Head of the South Kalimantan Ministry of Religion Regional Office Muhammad Tambrin, and the Regent Official Tapin Syafruddin accompanied by drum beats which were also witnessed by thousands of local residents who crowded the magnificent MTQ stage to XXXV.

MTQ is an Indonesian Islamic religious festival and competition held at the national level which aims to glorify the Koran. Before entering the national level, this festival was also held at the provincial level to select the best candidates to take to the national level. In reading, MTQ is read with a touch of tone. For this reason, MTQ is included in the art of reading the Al-Qur’an which requires special techniques.

Each City and Regency representative participated in showing their best participants in this festival which is held regularly every two years. It is hoped that this religious festival can run smoothly and produce MTQ Banua cadres and achieve achievements not only at the national level but also at the international level.
