This activity was attended by a number of choir groups from various educational institutions in South Kalimantan, such as the PSM of the Islamic University of Kalimantan (UNISKA), PSM of Sari Mulia University, and the SMAN 1 Gambut Choir.
The Head of PSM ULM, Wisnu Hadi, said that this activity was designed as a forum for collaboration and joint learning between choir units.
“We hope that this Choral Session with Swara Banua Choir will be a space that brings together, not separates. Building relationships, not just reputations,” he said.
The event was officially opened by singing the song Indonesia Raya and the ULM Mars, then continued with a report from the committee chairman, remarks from the instructor, and a photo session with all participants.
The main session of the activity was filled with basic vocal technique training presented by Sherly Nur Hikmah, M.Pd., followed by vocalization practice and singing song practice together guided by vocal trainer Triono Budiwiryawan. As a closing, participants participated in a casual discussion and experience sharing session across choir groups.
In her speech, Sherly, who is also the supervisor of PSM ULM, appreciated this activity as a positive step in strengthening relations between vocal art units among students.
“This activity is a valuable moment to strengthen campus arts synergy. I really appreciate the enthusiasm of all parties involved, including support from the university, student affairs, security guards, and cleaning staff, who continue to work even though the activity is carried out on a holiday,” she said.
Through this Choral Session, Swara Banua Choir hopes to strengthen the vocal art network in South Kalimantan while also enlivening the spirit of collaboration between the younger generation in the framework of education and culture.
