FKIP ULM International Seminar “Competency Based Learning and Assessment for a Better Quality Education”
Banjarmasin – The 1st International Conference on Education Studies with the theme “Competency Based Learning and Assessment for a Better Quality Education” was held at the Aria Barito Hotel. The activity, which lasted for 2 days, 1-2 October 2024, was opened by the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Ir. Hj. Noor Mirad Sari, M.P by presenting international speakers Dr. Syaza Hazwani Zaini from Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia, will discuss “Digital Transformation in Education: Challenges and Opportunities”. Dr. Rahmawati, S.T., M.Ed., Head of the Education Testing Management Center, will deliver material on “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Developing Competency Based Learning”. OGUZ KOKLU, Ph.D from Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, Istanbul, Turkey, will review “Adaptive Learning Strategies in the Disruptive Era”. Meanwhile, Dra. Asrijanty, M.A., Ph.D from the Center for Educational Assessment will provide a presentation on “Innovations in Assessment for Quality Education in Disruptive Times”.
Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc as Vice Rector IV of ULM also participated by becoming a keynote speaker in this seminar. He will explain the integration of artificial intelligence in the learning process and how technology can be utilized to improve the quality of education. He also strongly supports the seminar activities which are expected to educate the academic community from students to lecturers to utilize artificial intelligence AI in learning.
“This seminar is very strategic, especially for study programs in the Department of Education that are preparing for international accreditation. The presence of international seminars and efforts to internationalize this program are expected to have a positive impact on improving the quality and reputation of ULM at the national and global levels,” he said.
This activity was attended by around 466 participants with 180 participants attending offline and 286 others online. In addition, this activity, which was fully supported by the leadership of FKIP and ULM, featured 40 articles presented by researchers from within and outside the country.
Head of the Department of Education, FKIP ULM, Dr. Nina Permata Sari, S.Psi., M.Pd., is committed to continuing to improve the quality of education by carrying out activities or programs that can support the learning process.
“We hope that this activity shows that ULM remains committed to maintaining the quality of education through programs that support learning and research,” she said.
She further explained that this seminar was ULM’s effort to strengthen international collaboration and improve the quality of education in South Kalimantan and at the national level.
