66th Anniversary, ULM Realizes Culture of Change Towards World Class University
Banjarbaru – Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) should be happy to enter its 66th year this year. The peak of the celebration of ULM’s 66th Anniversary was held at the Banjarbaru Auditorium at the Open Senate Meeting of the Anniversary which presented the ULM academic community ranging from students, lecturers, and education staff. The peak of the Anniversary activity which was held on Saturday (21/9/2024) carried the theme “Culture of Change, Towards a World Class University”. This theme was carried out in line with ULM’s ideals which are increasingly showing their credibility.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Si in his remarks also conveyed many positive achievements that ULM has achieved both at the national and international levels. So he is sure that ULM’s steps to become a World Class University will be realized in the near future.
ULM has taken strategic steps little by little, including ensuring the success of the Green Matrix program which is an assessment indicator for each campus that will lead the University to become World Class. Furthermore, the ULM Chancellor explained the cooperation efforts that will be established with various countries that are in the QS 100. This also opens up opportunities for success in realizing ULM as a World Class University.
“Currently, the process of collaborating with various universities in the world, especially (countries) that are in the QS 100 has begun to be implemented,” said the ULM Rector in his interview.
Moreover, currently ULM is the only university that has control of land and forests located in Kotabaru, namely Mangrove Land. The 600 Ha land is land that can be utilized by ULM. In addition to the benefits that can be felt by the academic community, the land will certainly invite various universities both inside and outside to establish cooperation, especially in the field of research and improving the world university ranking
“Universities from Brunei, Malaysia, and the Philippines will soon sign an MoU in October for joint utilization of the mangrove land at ULM,” he said.
The ULM Rector is grateful for all the achievements that have been achieved. Therefore, to create a culture of change in the ULM environment for the academic community, since a month before the peak of ULM’s Dies Natalis, various Schools of Change have been implemented in stages and simultaneously in order to improve the quality and quality of human resources at ULM.
