PEKSIMINAS XVII 2024 at UNJ Opens, 27 ULM Students Ready to Compete
Jakarta – Jakarta State University (UNJ) successfully held the opening ceremony of the National Student Arts Week (PEKSIMINAS) XVII 2024. The opening ceremony was held at the UNJ Sports Hall (GOR) on Monday (2/9/24), attended by the UNJ Chancellor, Chairperson of the Indonesian Student Arts Advisory Board, and Head of the National Achievement Center.
The Chairperson of the PEKSIMINAS Executive Committee, Dr. Andy Hadiyanto, MA., in his activity report said that there were 874 participants from 31 provinces throughout Indonesia. The contingent from South Kalimantan sent 36 students from various universities in South Kalimantan to take part in 14 Peksiminas competition branches.
Among the South Kalimantan contingent, there were 27 students from Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) who competed in 9 competition branches. In addition to ULM, there are 4 representatives from Sari Mulia University, 2 (two) representatives from the Islamic University of Kalimantan (UNISKA), 2 (two) representatives from the Tanah Laut State Polytechnic (Politala), and 1 (one) representative from the Banjarmasin State Polytechnic.
Peksiminas 2024 has 15 competition branches that will be held at 2 (two) UNJ campuses, where most of them will be held at campus A and some of them, such as dance and painting at campus B. In his remarks, the Rector of UNJ, Prof. Dr. Komarudin, M.Sc., expressed his hope that PEKSIMINAS XVII can be a place to develop the creativity and artistic talents of Indonesian students.

At the opening ceremony, the competition contingent from South Kalimantan wore red sasirangan as a symbol of their courage and readiness to compete in Peksiminas 2024.
After the speech was finished, the event continued with an opening dance featuring the Nusantara Menari dance. The peak of the event was filled with a parade of contingents from 31 provinces who also enlivened this national arts event. After the opening ceremony was over, participants continued the agenda by attending a technical meeting to strengthen their understanding of the competition mechanism.
