14 ULM Student Delegates Participate in SEA Teacher Program, Malaysia Humanitarian Project, and IISMA
Banjarmasin– The Indonesian Independence Day celebration was also marked by the academic community of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM). The occasion was commemorated with a ceremony involving the entire ULM community at the Open Space field on Saturday, August 17, 2024. The ceremony was led by Vice Rector I Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr., M.Kes., Sp.F., SH.
The event also served as a send-off for ULM students who will be participating in the SEA Teacher Program Batch 2024, the Malaysia Humanitarian Project, and the IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) program.
The SEA Teacher Program is an initiative under the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) that allows pre-service teachers from Southeast Asian countries to gain teaching experience abroad.
Through this program, students are given the opportunity to teach for several months in another country, enabling them to learn and adopt various educational methods, enhance global competitiveness, and improve their knowledge and skills.
IISMA is part of the Merdeka Campus program with a scholarship scheme from the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology to support Indonesian students in a one-semester mobility program at leading universities and industries abroad.
A total of 14 ULM student delegates will participate in these programs, studying and teaching in countries including Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, Spain, and South Korea. Vice Rector I Dr. Iwan Aflanie expressed his enthusiasm for the send-off and hoped that the knowledge gained abroad would benefit the students in the future and be applied in their careers.
The symbolic send-off ceremony included the donning of academic jackets by Vice Rector I to student representatives Muhammad Salman’Anshari Rizky and Gya Noza Talenta Maharani. Salman will join the SEA Teacher Program at Iloilo Science and Technology (ISAT) University, Philippines, while Gya will participate in the SEA Teacher Program at the University of Immaculate Conception (UIC), Philippines.

- – Muhammad Bintang Putera Gemilang from the History Education FKIP program, participating in the Malaysia Humanitarian Project at INTI University, Malaysia
- – Hunafa Silahil Barra from the PG-PAUD FKIP program, participating in the Malaysia Humanitarian Project at INTI University, Malaysia
- – Suci Ella Noventi from the Geography Education FKIP program, participating in the Malaysia Humanitarian Project at INTI University, Malaysia
- – Muhammad Riky Rahman from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education FKIP program, participating in the Malaysia Humanitarian Project at INTI University, Malaysia
