Follow-Up for the 3rd Batch of Indonesian Dental Internship Program: KIKI Central Provides Training
Banjarmasin – As a follow-up to the Indonesian Dental Internship Program and as part of accelerating the fulfillment of the need for doctors and dentists across Indonesia, the Directorate of Health Workforce Utilization organized training for participants of the Indonesian Doctor Internship Program (PIDI) and the Indonesian Dental Internship Program (PIDGI) for the 3rd batch of dental interns for the August 2024 period. The event took place over three days from August 15-17 in Banjarmasin.
Attended by the Central Indonesian Medical Internship Commission, represented by drg. Tri Taryati S.H. M.HKes., and professional dentists from the FK ULM working group, the participants received training from representatives of the Central Indonesian Medical Internship Committee (KIKI).
A total of 29 participants received training and will be placed in three districts: Barito Kuala, Tapin, and Hulu Sungai Tengah. The internship program will involve rotations between hospitals and community health centers. The program will commence on August 17 and last for six months.
Among the participants, 18 are dental interns from ULM, 2 from Universitas Cah Kuala Aceh, 2 from Universitas Prima Indonesia Medan, 1 from Universitas Gadjah Mada, 1 from Universitas Prof. Dr. Mustofo, 1 from Universitas Trisakti, 3 from IIKA Kediri, and 1 from UNY.
According to the Ministry of Health, the doctor internship program is a form of training for newly graduated doctors to align their education with field conditions. Typically, internships are held immediately after doctors graduate from medical school. The purpose of the internship is to ensure that doctors are prepared and skilled for independent practice.
It is hoped that this Doctor Internship Program will enhance the skills and knowledge of the participants, providing them with adequate preparation for their future duties and contributing to the development of South Kalimantan Province.
