Parent Meeting for FKG Freshman 2024

Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Dentistry, Lambung Mangkurat University (FKG ULM) together with the Student Executive Board (BEM) FKG ULM held an event called “FKG ULM Freshman Parents Meeting”. This event was held in the 5th Floor Hall of the Gusti Hasan Aman Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) on Saturday (10/08/2024).

The activity was carried out in order to foster friendship and form an understanding of the importance of the role of parents in students’ future lectures and explain various important things that will be experienced not only by freshman but also by parents.

The Dean of FKG Prof. Dr. drg. Maharani Laillyza Apriasari, Sp.PM welcomed the activity which was held for the first time and was the only FKG to implement it. At the beginning of her speech, she also explained the profile of FKG ULM which is a large faculty of dentistry and produces alumni of dental dentists and also specialist dentists on the island of Kalimantan. Prof. Maharani also reminded the students that they need to adapt from being a student to being a student.

“When becoming a student, you have to start learning discipline starting from being on time for lectures, to meal times, being responsible and also being proactive”. she said.

Prof. Maharani also asked for the role of parents in supporting their children, especially at the beginning of the semester because sometimes there are times when students leave early and come home late.

After the welcoming speech and opening by the Dean, the event continued with the delivery of material by the speakers, namely drg. Isnur Hatta, MAP (Head of the Dentistry study program) with lecture material at FKG and evaluation, Dr. drg. Debby Saputera, Sp.Pros (head of the Dentistry Profession study program) with material on the Dentistry Profession Study Program and drg. Tri Nurrahman, Sp.BM with material on Student Activities at FKG ULM.
