Floating National Seminar 2024 “Stepping in Exploration and Innovation: Building Sustainable Agriculture Through Sub-Optimal Land Utilization”
Banjarbaru – In facing the challenge of providing agricultural product needs and optimizing sub-optimal land, the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat University (Faperta ULM) and the Agroecotechnology Student Association for the 2024/2025 Period held the 2024 Floating National Seminar “Stepping in Exploration and Innovation: Building Sustainable Agriculture Through Sub-Optimal Land Utilization” which was carried out at the Rodhita Hotel, Sunday (9/06/2024).
This seminar presented speakers from the Ministry and also National Companies, namely Dr. Ir Abd. Haris Bahrun, M.Sc., (Expert to the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia), Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Noor, M.S. (Main Expert Researcher at the BRIN Food Crop Research Center), and Didik Triwibowo, ST., M. Env.Man (Deputy HSE Division Head PT Adaro Indonesia) and moderated by Rabiatul Wahdah, S.P., M.S
Andi Nursalam, S.Pt in his speech representing the Vice Rector appreciated this national seminar activity. As a province that has a large area, South Kalimantan province has the potential to become a major supplier for the National Capital Region in the future. “We must be able to utilize the existing potential well, even though there are various challenges that we have to face with the condition of the land we have here.” he said. He also did not forget to thank the resource persons present, the Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, ULM, Prof. Akhmad Rizali Saidy, S.P., M.Ag.Sc., Ph.D., Seminar participants as well as students and committee members who have successfully carried out this national level seminar.
The 2024 Floating National Seminar is the culmination of a series of TERAPUNG activities (Supporting the Era of Agroecotechnology Creativity at the National Summit of Gemilang) consisting of several series of activities, namely the national digital poster competition, National Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIN), Gala Dinner & Awarding Night. this activity
This National Seminar event was attended by 150 participants from various institutions. This activity was successfully carried out thanks to good collaboration between the lecturers and the management of the Agroecotechnology Department Student Association, Faculty of Agriculture, ULM. It is hoped that the 2024 Floating National Seminar can explore the potential and challenges that exist in utilizing sub-optimal land. With various competent and experienced speakers, seminar participants gained new insights and inspiration to contribute to sustainable agricultural development in Indonesia, especially in South Kalimantan Province.
