BP2SDM KLHK RI Signs RPJP KHDTK ULM, Encourages Progress in Sustainable Forest Management
The Long Term Management Plan (RPJP) Document for Forest Areas with Special Purposes (KHDTK) at Lambung Mangkurat University was officially signed by the Head of the Human Resources Extension and Development Center (BP2SDM). Palguna Routeka as Head of BP2SDM of the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry signed the document at the KLHK office in Jakarta on Friday (17/5/2024), witnessed by Dr. Ir. H. Muhammad Helmi, M.M,., and Ir. Hj. Violet, M.P., as a lecturer at the ULM Faculty of Forestry and Prof. Dr. Ir. Gusti Muhammad Hatta, M.S., Professor at the ULM Faculty of Forestry.
The signing of the RPJP KHTK ULM document by the Head of BP2SDM KLHK is a milestone in the progress of KHDTK ULM to carry out work program steps and cooperation in order to build and advance KHDTK ULM. The RPJP document is a guide for KHDTK ULM in the development and management of sustainable forest areas. KHDTK managers can use the RPJP document as an operational guide to encourage KHDTK ULM to be more active and innovative in managing natural resources sustainably.
Lambung Mangkurat University has a Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) covering an area of 1,617 ha in Karang Intan District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. The land is managed as an educational and training forest managed by Lambung Mangkurat University based on the Decree of the Minister of Forestry and Environment No. 900/Menlhk/Setjem/PLA.0/2016 dated 6 December 2016.
KHDTK has routinely become a location for ULM Forestry Faculty students to carry out Field Work Practice (PKL) activities. This PKL activity is a mandatory activity that ULM Faculty of Forestry students must take part in to learn more about the miniature tropical rainforests in Kalimantan.
