FKG ULM Holds IPC Receptor Training to Encourage Inter-Professional Collaboration
Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held an IPC Receptor Training activity on Saturday (27/4/2024) at the Galaxy Hotel Banjarmasin. The training was a collaboration between FKG ULM and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) ULM and Hasan Aman Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) Banjarmasin. Prof. Dr. Drg. Maharani Laillyza Apriasari, Sp.PM., as Dean of FKG ULM attended this event and also gave a short speech to the training participants.
This IPC Receptor Training was held as a follow-up to the Inter Professional Education (IPE) and Inter Professional Collaboration (IPC) Workshop which was held last Saturday (9/3/2024). IPE is a collaborative practice between two or more health professions who study each other’s roles and aims to improve collaboration capabilities and the quality of health services. IPC is a partnership between people with different professional backgrounds and working together to solve health problems and provide health services.
Implementing IPC is one way to maintain service quality and patient safety. IPC implemented competently and efficiently can build a relationship of trust between health workers and patients. This is in line with the IPC’s goal as a forum for efforts to realize effective collaborative practices between professions so that collaboration between professions in hospitals can support patient health and safety.
Dean of FKG ULM, Prof. Maharani said that by holding this activity, it is hoped that students will have the following values when serving in society:
- Mutual respect for each other’s profession;
- Able to build collaboration and teamwork between one another;
- Know the practice limits of each health worker so that in the future the skills they possess can become collaborative capital and increase each other’s competence.
Training coordinated by Dr. Drg. Debby Saputera was attended by the Dentist Profession study program, Nursing Profession Nurse study program, Pharmacy study program, Pharmacist Profession study program, and RSGM Hasan Aman. The training material was provided by Drg. Dwi Suhartiningtyas, M.D.Sc., from FKG Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) and Dr. Dr. Wiwik Kusumawati, M.Kes., from FKIK UMY.
“The hope of this activity is that all of us can become receptors for our students in IPC activities which are aimed at collaboration between professions,” said Prof. Maharani in her speech.
