LPPM ULM Holds Outreach to Encourage Lecturers to Conduct Compulsory Research and Competitive Research
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) routinely provides funding for internal research carried out by lecturers within ULM through PNBP funds. This year, ULM has 2 research schemes that must be carried out by lecturers, namely competitive research and non-competitive research or mandatory research. Therefore, the Chair of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Prof. Sunardi, S.Si, M.Sc, Ph.D., carried out the Socialization of the 2024 ULM PNBP Fund Research and Community Service Guide on Wednesday (27/3/2024) offline and online.
This event, which took place at the ULM General Building, presented the PIC of Mandatory Service Research, Dr. Mustika Wati, S.Pd., M.Sc and PIC Competitive Research Prof. Ir. Iryanti Nata, ST., MT., Ph.D., as a resource person who will explain the guidelines and techniques for implementing the desired research activities down to the amount of funds and groups required.
Prof. Sunardi welcomed the implementation of this socialization activity which he felt was very useful for the progress of ULM’s own publications. This is also a form of commitment from the Institution which always provides support through the provision of research funds.
“According to instructions from the Chancellor, one of ULM’s obligations is to support research funds for study programs,” said Prof. Sunardi.
Through this research funding scheme, it is hoped that lecturers’ contribution to conducting research will increase. “Hopefully with this there will be no more study programs that do not carry out research because non-competitive research funds will be attached to a lecturer,” he added.
Prof. Sunardi further explained the research scheme, one of which is competitive research, where this research is in the process of being implemented in full competition, carried out by internal and external reviewers to maintain quality and transparency. So apart from thinking about the mandatory research they have to carry out, competitive research is also an obligation that lecturers must fulfill.
Each lecturer will receive research funds which will later be combined and then can propose 1 proposal for 1 group. The Chairperson of LPPM ULM hopes that this research funding can strengthen Sudi Program research or research in groups. At the end of Prof. Sunardi hopes that this competitive research will be able to boost the voice of research in the form of international publications.
