Banjarmasin – In connection with the implementation of the 2024 Maturaty Rating assessment (for the 2023 assessment) at BLU Lambung Mangkurat University, Vice Rector II of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Dr. Ir. Arief RM Akbar invited the team preparing the ULM Maturaty Rating to hold a coordination meeting ahead of the implementation of the BLU ULM Maturaty Rating, Tuesday (26/3/2024).
The meeting, which was held in the Hall on the second floor of the ULM Rectorate, was intended to equalize perceptions in the preparation and fulfillment of documents ahead of the assessment. BLU Maturity Rating is an assessment framework that focuses on process & performance improvement. There are 5 (five) maturity levels where each level has a criteria base that applies universally to all assessment aspects and indicators, namely: 1) Initial or ad-hoc where the activities used as the basis for measuring maturity are still ad-hoc; 2) Managed, where at this level, BLU has the capability to carry out activities that are repeatable, even though they have not been documented in a standard manner; 3) Defined, the process of documenting activities at level 2 in a standard manner outlined in the form of standard procedures; 4) Predictable, where at this level, BLU is able to define, control and predict processes to maintain the quality of services and output provided to the public, 5) Optimizing, where at this stage BLU has reached the stage of perfection and is oriented towards innovation and continuous improvement (continuous improvement).
This is based on the statement of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo who explained at the 2024 National Coordination Meeting that BLU and BLUD management by government agencies must prioritize quality of service at affordable prices for the general public. In essence, the Maturaty Rating is used to improve the quality of BLU services because there are still many BLU work units who do not understand how to maximize their flexibility.
In this regard, ULM, which is now a Public Service Agency university, also supports the existence of this assessment framework by participating in preparing the necessary designs.
“This is standard work that we have to do,” said ULM Vice Rector II.
However, he also admitted that this was done in 2023 without any guidance. Therefore, ULM needed additional information so it had to invite the maturity rating manager at the University of Jember several weeks ago. From this meeting, ULM was finally able to learn and was ready to be able to complete any gaps in the required documents.
“After that, we will do another internal operation, we already know the shortcomings, we have to complete this document, this and so on,” he added again.
