10 Naval Academy Cadets Visit ULM, Rector Highlights Navy’s Role in ULM History
Banjarmasin – Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M.Si., received an honorary visit from 10 cadets of the 71st Class of the Tk.II Naval Academy on Thursday (16/11/2023) in the Hall on the 2nd floor of the ULM Rectorate. The Chancellor welcomed this visit as a form of support for the Jalasesya Practical Training activities for the 71st class of Tk.II Naval Academy Cadets in Banjarmasin on 15-18 November 2023.
The arrival of the cadets and cadets was accompanied by the Naval Academy (AAL) Accompanying Officer (Paping) Lt. Joko Wibowo and Paping Lanal, namely Captain Hadi Sujarwo. The 10 cadets who attended were Sergeant Cadet Riki, Sergeant Cadet Mirza, Sergeant Truna Rafit, Sergeant Cadet Younanda, Sergeant Cadet M. Nauval. A, Cadet Sergeant Ilham, Cadet Sergeant Rizky Abar, Cadet Sergeant M.Irfan, Cadet Sergeant Juan, and Cadet Sergeant Sudenta.
Lieutenant Joko Wibowo said that this visit was a form of friendship between the Naval Academy and Lambung Mangkurat University.
“Our aim and objective here is first to make friends, to ask the Rector for knowledge for the cadets who attended the event,” said Lieutenant Joko Wibowo.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M, Si appreciated this visit. He expressed his great hopes for the cadets who were present so that they could become the front guard in protecting the Republic of Indonesia, especially Indonesia’s maritime areas.
“Welcome to the ULM campus, with educated and disciplined cadets in the Navy, I am sure (the cadets) will be at the forefront of protecting the Republic of Indonesia,” said the ULM Rector.
Prof. Ahmad also conveyed how the Navy had a big role in the history of the formation of ULM so that it could become the university it is today. In its history, the first Rector of ULM was a national hero from the ALRI division, namely Brigadier General. H. Hasan Basry. This indicates that this visit was deemed very appropriate and appropriate for the Navy academy to be able to understand the history of developing the quality of human resources through ULM.
“The presence of all the students at ULM today is extraordinary historical evidence for the children of the Indonesian nation that the Republic of Indonesia Navy has a very important strategic role in developing the quality of human resources through universities in South Kalimantan. namely Lambung Mangkurat University,” added the Rector.
