Strengthening Friendship, IKA Fahutan ULM Holds Sylva Karate Traditional Cup 2025
Banjarbaru – The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Forestry, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) will hold the Sylva Karate Traditional Cup 2025. The activity, which will be held for 2 days, namely May 10-11, 2025 in the yard of the Faculty of Forestry ULM, is held in order to strengthen friendship between alumni and the wider community.
“The goal is to strengthen friendship, both between alumni and the wider community. This is also part of our vision, to contribute in the fields of environment and health,” said the chairman of the IKA Faculty of Forestry ULM, Muhammad Helmi when met on Tuesday (6/5/2025).
In his interview, Muhammad Helmi expressed his hope that the implementation of this activity could be a place for coaching as well as a moment to revive interest in sports in South Kalimantan, especially in the field of karate. He considered karate sports to be able to foster positive enthusiasm and character for the younger generation.
“The spirit of competition must be upheld, this is the best moment for IKA to touch the karate community and young people,” he added.
Furthermore, he also said that the possibility of adding other sports branches next year is very large if this competition is successfully implemented.
“We also have plans for a fun run and an environmental-themed photography competition,” said the Head of IKA ULM.
This activity has been confirmed to be 90 percent complete. The chairman of the committee, Irwan Januardi, said that this activity was mostly filled by participants from elementary school, followed by junior high and high school.
