ULM Achieves Excellent Accreditation from BAN-PT, Proving National Class Education Quality
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has officially achieved Excellent accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), making it one of the best universities in Indonesia in terms of education, governance, and research and community service.
The certainty of obtaining this accreditation is stated in the Decree of BAN-PT Number 2171/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/PT/IV/2025 which was just issued on Tuesday (29/4). ULM Rector Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri expressed his gratitude for this achievement. “It was just issued today by BAN-PT, we are just waiting for the official certificate to be issued,” he told ANTARA in Banjarmasin.
This achievement is an important milestone for ULM which has been known as a leading state university (PTN) in Kalimantan Island. The “Excellent” predicate itself is the highest ranking in the BAN-PT accreditation system, surpassing the A predicate, which indicates that an institution has met very high quality standards in various academic and institutional aspects.
ULM underwent the re-accreditation process after BAN-PT requested a re-submission for accreditation in response to internal dynamics, including cases related to the professorship of a number of lecturers. In facing this process, the ULM Higher Education Institution Accreditation Team (AIPT) moved quickly and effectively to prepare the form documents within two months, from October to November 2024.
Prof. Alim added that this achievement is not only important for ULM’s reputation nationally, but also a motivation for the strategic development of the campus in the future, including improving facilities and infrastructure, research quality, and strengthening community service. “This accreditation is the dream of the academic community and the people of South Kalimantan who want ULM to continue to be the main reference for higher education,” he said.
