Banjarmasin – Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) welcomed a delegation from the University of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) on Monday (10/28/2024). The visit was part of an international collaboration program in the field of higher education. This visit aims to implement the Tridharma of Higher Education, which includes education, research, and community service, as well as initiate a student and lecturer exchange program between the two universities.
The visit from Unimas was carried out by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Language, and Communication (FPBK) UNIMAS Dr. Dilah bin Tuah, accompanied by Prof. Madya Dr. Zaimuariffudin Shukri bin Nordin, accompanied by Dr. Nuryadin from UIN Antasari Banjarmasin and his team, while from ULM they were welcomed by Vice Rector I, Vice Rector II, Head of BPKH, ULM Cooperation and Public Relations Coordinator and several lecturers in the ULM environment.
In this series of visits, delegates from UNIMAS and ULM held discussions regarding opportunities for collaboration in academics and research. The discussion focused on areas that have great potential to be developed together, such as environmental science, technology, health, and social sciences.
The ULM Rector, represented by the Vice Rector, said that this collaboration is expected to strengthen the quality of education at both universities and open up wider opportunities for students and lecturers to learn from each other and exchange experiences. “This collaboration is a real manifestation of our commitment to expanding academic networks and encouraging innovation in the development of science,” he said.
As part of the agenda, a number of ULM students and lecturers are also scheduled to visit UNIMAS in the near future as a follow-up to the agreed exchange program. Both parties hope that this collaboration can encourage the development of student potential and improve lecturers’ capabilities through cross-cultural experiences and knowledge exchange.
This visit received a positive response from ULM students and academics, who saw this opportunity as a way to increase international experience and broaden perspectives in viewing global issues. The event was then continued with the handover of souvenirs and a group photo.
