Winning First Place in Statistic Data Camp, Fauzan Gives ULM a Prize on National Statistics Day
Muhammad Fauzan Adzim, a student of Statistics study program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) successfully won the award as the First Place Winner in Popular Article Category in Statistic Data Camp by Pojok Statistik. The national level event was held by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of the Republic of Indonesia in order to commemorate National Statistics Day on September 26.
The article submitted and brought Fauzan victory was entitled “One Century of Investment: Building Humans, Building Indonesia”. The article was published on Medium.com, containing the importance of human resource development to achieve the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.
The title was chosen based on Fauzan’s attention to various problems in Indonesia. As a student who is the young generation of the nation’s successors, Fauzan certainly feels the need to have a role in contributing his ideas, especially to support the national vision of “Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”.
“In my opinion, the root of the problems in Indonesia is the organizer, namely humans, so the quality of Indonesian humans needs to be considered in various pillars of human resource development,” said Fauzan in an interview.
The pillars of human resource development that Fauzan meant were those that have been compiled by Bappenas in the Vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. There are four pillars, the first pillar is human development and mastery of science and technology, the second pillar is sustainable economic development, the third pillar is equitable development, the fourth pillar is strengthening national resilience and governance.
Fauzan worked on the article for approximately 3 weeks, starting from conducting research, brainstorming, writing, to editing and finalization. He compiled the article while he was doing Field Work. In addition, he also received assistance from the Coordinator of the Statistics Study Program, Prof. Dewi Anggraini, Ph.D.
“She provided great support and very constructive input during the drafting period,” said Fauzan.
In the interview, Fauzan also shared a memorable moment when he participated in the event which coincided with the National Statistics Day Award in Jakarta. The opportunity certainly provided new insights and experiences, as well as increasing Fauzan’s relationships from various regions in Indonesia. “I also learned new things because the small research I did was truly comprehensive and cross-sectoral,” said Fauzan.
