ULM Holds Student MTQ Selection, Prepares Representatives for International Events
Banjarmasin – Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) held a selection for the Student Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an on Thursday (26/9/2024) at the Lecture Theater General Building ULM Banjarmasin. This selection was held to determine ULM representatives so that they could be trained and prepared to participate in the 2025 National Student MTQ.
A total of 81 students registered to take part in the university-level MTQM selection. This year, ULM opened 4 competition branches, namely Tilawah, Tartil, Tahfidz (10,20, and 30 Juz), and Khat. In detail, the Head of the ULM MTQM Executive Committee reported that there were 19 participants in the Tilawah branch, 38 participants in the Tartil branch, 3 people in Tahfidzh 10 juz, 4 people in Tahfidz 20 juz, and 1 person in Tahfidz 30 juz. The Khat branch is divided into 2 (two), namely Decorative Khat 3 people and Contemporary Khat 9 people.
A total of 12 people from the Board of Judges were present, where there were 3 Board of Judges for each competition branch. Rusdiansyah, M.Pd.I., as the Head of the MTQM ULM Executive Committee said that all the Board of Judges were selected from external parties of ULM.
“It is hoped that the selection will be carried out transparently, supportively, and can choose the best. The presence of the Board of Judges who are experts is also expected to be a motivation for students,” he said.
Vice Rector III for Student Affairs and Alumni ULM, Dr. Muhammad Rusmin Nuryadin, S.E., M.Si., in his speech expressed his appreciation for the participants of the MTQM ULM. He said that the selection was carried out earlier so that the winners of this selection could be trained more optimally for approximately 1 year. He said that in the future students who represent ULM will be trained to be able to take part in the International MTQ event.
To support the development of student achievements in the field of Islam, Vice Rector III also said that he would fully support religious development activities.
“I will not reject the proposal for religious activities in the mosque,” he said.
Through this support, Dr. Rusmin hopes to strengthen the Islamic identity of students in the digital era through the Qur’an, in accordance with the theme of the MTQ selection activity.
