Banjarmasin – Student Entrepreneurship Program Week (PMW) is one of the entrepreneurship development programs among students that aims to encourage their entrepreneurial potential and abilities since they are in college. This program is here as an answer to the challenges of the increasingly competitive world of work, where college graduates are not only expected to become workers, but also to be able to create new jobs.
In line with the role of universities in producing independent, innovative, and creative graduates, PMW is a forum for students to develop potential business ideas. This program provides supplies, guidance, and financial support for students in developing their businesses. In its implementation, students are invited to submit business proposals which will then be selected and given funding based on the feasibility and potential of the business.
The importance of implementing PMW is also driven by the increasing unemployment rate among undergraduate graduates. With PMW, it is hoped that it can foster students’ entrepreneurial spirit, reduce their dependence on limited employment opportunities, and provide direct contributions to the community’s economy through the creative and innovative businesses they develop.
Through the PMW Week, universities strive to form students who not only excel academically, but also have independence in their work and entrepreneurship, so that they are ready to face global challenges and make real contributions to the nation’s economic development.
To support this program, Lambung Mangkurat University is committed to providing support by implementing Entrepreneurship Technical Guidance which was held on Wednesday (11/9/2024) at the Lecture Theater General Building ULM Banjarmasin. The implementation with the theme “Strengthening Digital Marketing to Increase Visitor Insight and Sales Through Social Media” was attended by ULM Rectorate officials, namely Evy Noor Aina Hasni, S.E as Head of Student Affairs and a number of speakers.
The speakers provided important material related to entrepreneurship and how digital plays a role in running entrepreneurship on social media, namely Andi Riza Syafarani and Nur Al-Amirullah. This Entrepreneurship Technical Guidance is expected to provide reinforcement and motivation to students to be diligent in entrepreneurship. In addition, this Technical Guidance provides material and supplies on business management, marketing, finance, and administration.
