Gastin and Azizah Participate in Harvard College Project For Asian And International Relations 2024 Asia Conference
Bangkok, Thailand – The departure of Andi Azizah Maulidia Budiarman and Gastin Gabriel Jangkang from the Doctoral Professional Education Program to Bangkok, Thailand, for the Harvard College Project For Asian And International Relations (HPAIR) 2024 Asia Conference went smoothly. After a rigorous selection process starting in June 2024, they arrived in Bangkok to participate in the event from August 21-25, 2024.
HPAIR is an annual project organized by Harvard University, which has been held since 1991. To date, 50 conferences have been held in 20 different host countries around the world. The conference aims to connect current global leaders with future leaders in a dynamic forum for the exchange of ideas.
Following the opening ceremony, the two ULM delegates, who also represent Indonesia, participated in several speaker sessions or panel discussions with CEOs, heads of NGOs, and prominent government delegates from around the world to discuss SDG issues over four days. The sessions will feature distinguished global speakers such as Amanpreet Bajaj (Airbnb General Manager for SEA, India, HK, & Taiwan), Steve George (Executive Editor, CNN Hong Kong Bureau), and many others.
In addition to the conference, Gastin mentioned in an interview that there would be an Impact Challenge competition where participants will address problems (case studies) related to companies, startups, or NGOs in various fields and seek solutions. The team with the best presentation, consisting of 8-9 members, will be selected to receive an award at the HPAIR 2024 event.
