Monitoring and Evaluation of the 7 in 1 Project Grant Program from IsDB
Banjarmasin – The new building at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), funded by a grant from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) under the 7 in 1 Project, is now benefiting the university community. The building was inaugurated in March 2019 by Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak., who served as the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of Indonesia from 2014 to 2019.
The buildings funded by this grant are located in two different places: Banjarbaru, which includes the ULM Auditorium and Sport Center, and Banjarmasin, which houses the General Building of ULM, including the Library, Student Activity Center, Lecture Theatre, FKIP Dean’s Office, FKIP Social Sciences Laboratory, FKIP Natural Sciences Laboratory, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and FEB Lecture Theatre.
In follow-up to the 7 in 1 Project, the IsDB team conducted an evaluation and discussion about the outcomes of the building project on Wednesday (August 21, 2024) at the Crystal Room, Fugo Hotel. The event was welcomed by ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E, M.Si, and was attended by all ULM Vice Rectors, several ULM Deans, representatives of IsDB grant beneficiaries including faculty and students, the IsDB 7 in 1 Project team from ULM for 2022, and the organizing committee for the IsDB 7 in 1 Project monitoring and evaluation.
During the meeting, the Rector outlined the significant benefits derived from the IsDB-funded building project, including infrastructure and facilities, through a presentation and video testimonials from students and ULM Deans. It was also explained that the IsDB grant helped ULM achieve a position of 2196 in the EduRank World University Rankings 2024.
The monitoring and evaluation activity conducted by the IsDB team aimed to address any remaining issues and shortcomings. Ahyahudin Sodri, a representative of the IsDB team, praised ULM’s efforts in realizing the 7 in 1 Project. He further explained that the purpose of the meeting was to assess the impact of the new facilities on both the academic community and external stakeholders at ULM.
“In line with our goal of performance and evaluation, we want to see if what we have built has had the impact we promised,” said A. Sodri, a member of the IsDB team.
