91st Doctoral Oath Ceremony: ULM Appoints 14 New Doctors and 12 Specialists

Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held the Specialist Doctor Badge Presentation and the 91st Doctoral Oath Ceremony on Wednesday (August 14, 2024) at the FK ULM Auditorium in Banjarmasin.
At the event, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr. Sp.F., S.H., M.Kes., represented the ULM Rector in presenting badges to 12 specialist doctors and in swearing in 14 new doctors.
The ceremony was also attended by FKIK ULM Dean Prof. Dr. Dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.Pd., FISPH FISCM, along with the FKIK ULM leadership and senate members, and a representative from the General Director of RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin, a partner hospital of FKIK ULM.
During the ceremony, ULM appointed 12 specialist doctors, including 2 Pulmonologists (7th batch), 2 Anesthesiologists and Intensive Therapists (3rd batch), 6 Surgeons (6th batch), and 2 Obstetricians and Gynecologists (10th batch).

In his address, the Vice Rector congratulated and gave advice to the newly appointed doctors and specialists.
“There are 5 phases of intellectual life: first, learn as much and as well as possible; second, show the world; third, build networking and expand connections; fourth, carry out responsibilities; and fifth, focus on leadership,” he stated.
The Dean of FKIK also encouraged the doctors to continue learning and updating their knowledge in their respective fields. He expressed hope that ULM would contribute to addressing the disparity in the distribution of specialist doctors in Indonesia.
“Prioritize professionalism, humanitarian values, and ethics. Continue to enhance your skills and keep up with advancements in knowledge and technology,” he advised the doctors.
