51 Dentist Professional Students Take Comprehensive Tests

Banjarmasin, 51 students of the Dentistry Profession study program, Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) underwent a comprehensive test held at the Hasan Aman Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM), Tuesday (7/8/2024). The comprehensive test is an important exam that aims to measure the abilities and academic quality of students in the Dentistry Profession program. This test is part of the internship education that students must undergo before they can take the Dentistry Profession Program Student Competency Test (UKMP2DG).

Head of the Dentistry Profession study program, drg. Debby Dr. drg. Debby Saputera, Sp.Pros. explained that the comprehensive test is mandatory for Dentistry Profession students who have completed their internship education. This test will take place from 08.00 – 14.00 WITA and is divided into two exam sessions per day. The test includes technical preparation, briefings to examiners and students, exam implementation, exam evaluation, and announcement of results. “This test is conducted to ensure that ULM Dentistry Profession students have the knowledge and skills needed to become competent and professional dentists.” Said Dr. Debby.

Dr. Debby further explained that this test was conducted by the Education Coordination Committee which oversees FKG and RSGM. The examiners of this test must also be Specialist Dentists or S2. He said that after passing the comprehensive test, students who are declared capable and pass will be entitled to take the UKMP2DG, which is the next step to be able to continue the certification process as a dentist. He also hopes that 100 percent of students can pass the Comprehensive test and UKMP2DG later.
