Towards a Laboratory with Good Laboratory Practice Standards
Banjarmasin – The Academic Support Unit (UPA) of the Integrated Laboratory held a Group Discussion Forum (FGD) “Laboratory Management in Fulfilling Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)” on Monday (29/7/2024). The event held at the Fugo Hotel was opened directly by Dr.rer.nat. Liling Triyasmono, S.Farm as the Head of the ULM Integrated Lab UPA.
The Integrated Laboratory (Lab) is a facility designed to support various types of research, testing, and learning activities in various disciplines. This facility is usually equipped with modern and sophisticated equipment that can be used for experiments, analysis, and testing in various fields such as biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and environmental science.
The presence of the Integrated Lab aims to support research and development in various disciplines. In addition, it provides facilities for practicums and learning for students. As well as providing testing and analysis services for academic and industrial purposes.
Therefore, the Head of the ULM Integrated LAB UPA DR. Liling hopes that this facility can be utilized as much as possible by the entire ULM academic community to gain more benefits. Furthermore, he also hopes that the Integrated Lab can continue to develop not only into a wetland laboratory, but also a humanities lab, and a computer lab owned by ULM.
“Hopefully next year we will get more funding so that we can manage all the laboratories that are not only wet laboratories, but also humanities and computer labs owned by ULM,” said Dr. Liling
The rapid development of the ULM Integrated Laboratory with all the increasingly good and sophisticated infrastructure developments has made the lab increasingly play a major role in the development of study programs. In addition, according to Dr. Liling, since the visitation by ASIIN in September-October last year, the ULM Integrated LAB UPA has had a relatively large impact.
“Studies that visited the integrated lab during the accreditation visitation almost all received Superior accreditation,” he added.
This FGD event presented 2 speakers, Prof. Dr. Rer.nat.apt. Endang Lukitaningsih, M.Si with the material on GLP Standard Laboratory Management and Ivan Sarifudin, M.T as the Director of Labmania with the material on Improving the Quality of Laboratory Management to Support Certification Fulfillment.
Through this activity, it is expected that participants will produce formulations that can provide an overview of how to manage a standardized Integrated Lab. The event, which was attended by the Head of the Planning, Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau, is also a form of commitment given by him in the process of achieving an Integrated Lab that is standardized to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) or at least ISO 17025 2017.
“With the presence of the head of bureau, the formulations that we recommend that are produced in one day can later be facilitated on how we compile plans in an integrated and solution-oriented manner for the good and improvement of laboratory services,” concluded Dr. Liling.
