Hybrid Conference 2024 National Seminar Prosthodontic Dentistry in Daily Practice: Explain the Use of AI in the World of Dentistry
Banjarmasin – Faculty of Dentistry held the 2024 National Hybrid Conference Seminar on Prosthodontic Dentistry in Daily Practice which was held on Saturday (22/6/2024). The event, which was held at the Fugo Hotel Banjarmasin, presented the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Drg. Maharani Laillyza Apriasari, SpPM., Chair of PDGI South Kalimantan Region, Chair of PDGI Banjarmasin, Chair of PDGI Banjarbaru, and Chair of the FKG Alumni Association drg. Yazid Eriansyah Pradanta.
A number of expert speakers such as Prof. Cortino Sukotjo, DDS, Ph.D, MMSc., MPHE from the University of Illinois, Chicago, Lieutenant Colonel Marine Drg. Abdullah Mugan, Sp. Pros from LADOKGI (Institute of Indonesian Navy Dentistry) Jakarta, drg. Ariyani, Sp.Pros from FKG University of North Sumatra, drg. Imran Irsal, Sp.Pros from Mulawarman University, and drg. M. Iqbal Baihaqi, Sp. Pros from RSGM Gusti Hasan Aman Banjarmasin.
Prosthodontic Dentistry is a science that studies artificial teeth, such as the manufacturing process, procedures for good dentures, as well as various sciences that support this science so that it is not just pure pros but also various topics regarding AI (Artificial Intelligence).
In this seminar, the invitees were given information regarding AI which is used as technology to assist processes in dentistry such as determining diagnoses, determining the accuracy of tools when making artificial teeth, fillings, also because the home country of one of the speakers, namely Chicago, has more advanced and sophisticated tools.
The hope is that the implementation of this seminar can provide broader insight regarding the use of AI, especially in the needs of the world of dentistry, both for lecturers and students. This is also a means to share knowledge between dentists who are members and on this occasion meet with the same interests.
“So that this hybrid conference national seminar activity can be sustainable in the future and the main thing is to provide updated insight and knowledge that keeps up with current developments to lecturers and students and this activity is attended by dentists in South Kalimantan. “So the hope is that we can share knowledge,” said Prof. Maharani.
