South Kalimantan KPID and ULM Establish MoU to Improve Regional Broadcasting Quality
Banjarmasin – South Kalimantan Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID Kalsel) is collaborating with Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) to improve broadcasting performance in the region. “We need to work together with universities to improve the quality of broadcasting in the regions,” said South Kalimantan KPID Chairman HM Farid Soufian in Banjarmasin, Thursday (7/3/2024).
Farid and ULM RectorProf. Ahmad Alim Bachri signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding broadcasting in South Kalimantan. Farid said the signing of the memorandum of understanding was to align joint activity programs in an effort to develop potential in the broadcasting sector.
“We want to develop broadcasting potential in South Kalimantan so that we can produce quality local content,” said Farid.
Apart from that, Farid said that this collaboration was to utilize all resources, especially energy, science and development technology according to tasks, functions and capacity.
“We hope that KPID South Kalimantan can also become a learning or internship place for ULM students,” said Farid.
Meanwhile, ULM Rector Prof. Ahmad wants the signing of the MoU with South Kalimantan KPID to provide benefits for both parties. “This collaboration is a positive step, because there are many objects that can be collaborated with KPID South Kalimantan,” said Prof Alim.
He emphasized the positive value, including in developing human resources (HR), especially for students, especially the Communication Study Program FISIP ULM. “KPID “can become one of the institutions that accepts students to study, both practical field work (PKL) and research and others,” he said.
He also hopes that KPID can become teaching staff to support the implementation of practitioner lecturers. Dean of FISIP ULM Prof. Budi Surya added that this collaboration really helps realize the “Tri Dharma of Higher Education”, especially education and service.
“This certainly has a positive impact on faculty and university assessments. “Moreover, so far the Communication Study Program has been involved in KPI activities, namely the Television Broadcast Program Quality Index Survey since 2015,” said Prof. Budi.
