Nanang Miftah Fajari, Sp.PD, K-EMD, FINASIM Creates Innovation in Banjar Local Rice Processing for Diabetes Management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banjar, South Kalimantan \u2014 Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) has once again demonstrated its commitment to improving the quality of life of the community through a community service program entitled \u201cInnovation in Rice Processing Methods from Banjar Local Rice with Low Glycemic Index\u201d. This activity took place in Banyu Hirang Village, Gambut District, Banjar Regency, under the leadership of dr. Nanang Miftah Fajari, Sp.PD, K-EMD, FINASIM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This program has several objectives, including updating data on diabetes mellitus sufferers in the Gambut Health Center work area, improving health services according to standards through blood sugar checks, and providing education on Banjar local rice processing to control diabetes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cProcessing Banjar local rice with the right method can help lower the glycemic index of the rice produced. This is important for diabetics to better manage their blood sugar levels,\u201d said dr. Nanang.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the activity, the Village Head of Banyu Hirang and the Cadre Mentor, also helped with this socialization, starting from preparing the location, cooking practice tools, and main ingredients such as unus and pandak rice, which are local rice typical of the village. The village Posyandu cadres showed high enthusiasm during the cooking practice, learning new methods that are not only beneficial for diabetes sufferers but also for public health in general.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, through this program, Dr. Nanang also educates the community about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
