Banjarmasin\u2013 Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), a state university in South Kalimantan, remains committed to enhancing the quality of human resources, particularly for local youth. To achieve this goal, ULM continuously collaborates with various stakeholders, including the provincial and district governments in South Kalimantan.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc., Vice Rector for Cooperation, Public Relations, and Information Systems at ULM, attended the Geospasial Banua Award 2024 ceremony. The event was organized by the South Kalimantan Provincial Government on Wednesday (August 28, 2024) at the Rattan Inn Hotel in Banjarmasin.<\/p>\n
During the event, the South Kalimantan Provincial Government presented the Geospasial Banua Award to 6 SKPD (Regional Work Units) and 6 districts\/cities in South Kalimantan. The awards were handed out by the South Kalimantan Secretary, Roy Rizali Anwar, representing the Governor of South Kalimantan, alongside the Deputy for Geospatial Information Infrastructure, Ibnu Sofian, from the Geospatial Information Agency.<\/p>\n
The awards were given based on the achievements of each SKPD and local government in managing geospatial information. Themed \u201cOptimizing the Use of High-Quality Geospatial Data for Sustainable Development,\u201d the event emphasized the importance of geospatial data as a basis for budgeting and planning.<\/p>\n
Governor Sahbirin Noor, through the South Kalimantan Secretary, stated that the provincial government acknowledges that successful management of geospatial information networks is closely tied to the role of competent human resources and advanced technology. Competent HR and the application of appropriate technology ensure that geospatial data is produced more quickly, is more accessible, and is relevant to current field conditions.<\/p>\n
ULM’s presence at the Geospasial Banua Award ceremony underscores the university\u2019s significant role in South Kalimantan. As an educational institution, ULM plays a crucial role in enhancing the competence of local human resources to maximize natural resource potential for community welfare, particularly in South Kalimantan.<\/p>\n
To date, ULM has established collaborations with various stakeholders, including provincial and district governments in South Kalimantan. One of the latest initiatives includes the establishment of an Off-Campus Study Program (PSDKU) in collaboration with Kotabaru Regency.
