Students from the Educational Technology Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University, who are members of Sancaka Creative Production, won 1st place in Short Movie Education with the theme “Education and Mental Health” which was held in conjunction with the 21st Anniversary of the ULM FKIP Guidance and Counseling Study Program . The competition will start from 11 to 30 June 2024 online and will be participated by several schools and universities from various regions.<\/p>\r\n

Based on the results of the jury’s decision, Sancaka Creative Production succeeded in becoming first place by obtaining a total score of 1570 and an average score of 98.12 from Lambung Mangkurat University. Sitting in second place is the DPR Team which obtained a total score of 1430 with an average score of 89.37 from PGRI University Semarang. Meanwhile, the Alter Union Team had to settle for winning third place thanks to a total score of 1385 and an average score of 86.56 from SMAN 13 Banjarmasin.<\/p>\r\n

Sancaka Creative Production produced a film entitled Prototype which tells the story of a student named Naufal who has 2 personalities due to the pressure he experienced during his life before college. In his college life he experienced the mental illness D.I.D (Dissociative Identity Disorder) which he didn’t realize. A friend named Fahmi appears who always looks after him. They both have different problems but with the same underpressure and think that the world of college is just an escape. From the start, Fahmi had the intention of ending his life, but he wanted to have a friend who could at least change his mind. Unfortunately, Naufal’s illness always recurs, which requires Fahmi to face a personality that he doesn’t know.<\/p>\r\n

“The purpose of this film was to provide an image to people who often do not realize their selfishness towards people who are trying to understand life, an egoist who has the mindset “I can do it myself, I don’t want to burden other people’s minds, only I understand myself”, of course someone like that feels he has done something good, and it is true that no one knows us better than ourselves, but the presence of someone who is willing to accept his complaints is something that not everyone can get. Thinking that he is the most hurt person in this world and that no one can understand him even though he has told stories, even though he himself doesn’t believe in other people trying to understand him? In fact, sometimes he thinks we are bad people and forces him to open his mouth, even though he himself doesn’t understand how someone would take the time to understand, things like this happen to someone who can’t appreciate the small things and doesn’t understand the meaning of simplicity. So, believe it and tell it,” said Ihwannul Syaqir as the film director.<\/p>\r\n

This student of the Education Technology Study Program class of 2022 was also surprised because he managed to come out as first place, “Honestly, I was quite surprised to get the news that we got 1st place, even though I was previously quite confident that we would win, but I wasn’t too optimistic about winning 1st place.\u00a0Alhamdulillah, I am happy to get first place in the 21st BK Anniversary Championship, and hopefully it will be a positive thing for the audience who watch our film, take the human values contained in it and become an evaluation for future personality development. The development process took references from several well-known films and series, namely the film Identity (2003), Shutter Island (2010), and my favorite Marvel series Moon Knight (2022). Pre-production was carried out for around 5 days to accommodate the fairly complex storyline. Production takes around 8 days. Post-Production took about 4 days for me to complete it,” he said.<\/p>\r\n

Even though they were successful in winning first place in Short Movie Education this time, the judges agreed that there were still many things that needed to be improved by all Short Movie Education participants which they had summarized in their judging notes. Some of these notes were the failure of the narrative aspect to be developed by the participants, it was found in almost all of the participants’ works that it gave the impression that the film work created had patronized the audience, the use of language in the film which seemed forced was also a serious note for the participants to improve in the future, such as the choice of diction “lo & me” and other terms that are not supported by the actor’s pronunciation skills make the scenes in each dialogue feel funny and unrealistic, some of the participants’ works do not utilize time\/duration well, the mise en scene in the film is less realistic, it is still poor visuals so that participants are expected to be bolder in exploring visual elements and\u00a0playing with type of shot, camera angle, camera movement.<\/p>\r\n

“Overall, I appreciate all the work that the participants have created, whether in the form of praise, good grades or even criticism. The work that wins this competition is ultimately the work that has been able to build narrative elements amidst several notes that have been given previously and translate them using cinematic elements. Hopefully these judging notes can be useful for all participants, not just the winners. That I also believe that every first work we create will definitely be “bad”, until in the end we don’t stop creating, then one day we will learn from experience and produce the best work for the audience to enjoy. Finally, I congratulate you on presenting this film work. “Happy competing, happy competing and happy competing,” said the jury in their judging notes.<\/p>\r\n

Then the director, Ihwannul Syaqir, when asked what Sancaka Creative Production’s future targets were, answered that he and his team would evaluate the films they had produced, “For future targets, of course we will evaluate the film and the irregularities we have experienced, in order to develop story ideas. and even better characters. In essence, we don’t want to compare our hard work with other people’s success, but we will compare our hard work today with yesterday’s hard work. Hopefully it continues to develop for Sancaka Creative Production. “The prototype film can be watched via the Sancaka Creative Production YouTube Channel,” he added.<\/p>\r\n

Hopefully the achievements achieved by Ihwannul Syaqir and all the Prototype Film Crew who are members of Sancaka Creative Production can be a positive example for other educational technology students and can be a motivation to continue to contribute to producing proud achievements for our beloved campus and support the increase in KPI 2 especially in terms of student activities outside campus through the achievements obtained.<\/p>\r\n
