Banjarmasin \u2013 To gain skills and hone the interests and talents of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) students, ULM Language Center held Public Speaking Training with the theme “Tips for Becoming a Successful Master of Ceremony and News Anchor” on 3 and 4 November 2023 at Hall 2 Student Activity ULM Language Center and Classroom. The training was attended by 105 students from various faculties within ULM, presenting practitioners in the field of Public Speaking as well as Trainers and Coaches, namely Resa Sabrina Rahmayanti and Muhammad Anugerah Hilmi.<\/p>\n
Participants are equipped with basic concepts in Public Speaking such as controlling body posture, growing self-confidence, proper vocal techniques, as well as tips on becoming an MC and News Anchor who can successfully carry out their duties. In this training, participants are also given the opportunity to practice and appear as MCs and News Anchors. Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the activity to the end and quite a few showed a desire to continue honing their talents in the field of Public Speaking, especially MC and News Anchor. The Head of the ULM Language UPT, Jumariati, explained that this training was part of the ULM Language Center\u2019s efforts to participate in strengthening ULM’s capacity to become PTN-BLU and PTN-BH so that it could later provide professional Public Speaker services in the community.<\/p>\n
This Public Speaking Training is the conclusion of a series of activities to celebrate Language Month which will be held from September to November 2023, including BIPA Training for Lecturers, Teachers and BIPA Activists, BIPA Training for Students, Language Seminars, Cultural Discussions, and Public Speaking Training.
